美元指數走弱，非農失業率走低

7月2日，美國因獨立日假期提前公佈非農數據，數據表現大幅好於市場預期，但由於初請失業金數據較高，表明企業裁員仍在繼續。數據公佈後，現貨黃金出現明顯震盪，而美元指數則出現震盪走低趨勢。
具體數據顯示，美國6月新增非農就業人口480萬，遠高於預期的305.80萬，前值從250.90萬上修至269.9萬；失業率進一步回落至11.10%，低於預期的12.50%和前值13.30%。
就業崗位數量連續兩個月驚人地反彈或許證明，新冠疫情大流行導致的控制經濟衰退可能已經結束，公司重新開始雇傭員工。美國供應管理協會(ISM)上日公佈，6月製造業PMI指數升至52.6，創2019年4月以來最高，結束連續三個月萎縮的局面。
經濟學家將工作機會激增歸因於政府的“薪資保護計畫”，該計畫為企業提供貸款，如果用於支出工資，則可以部分免於償還。但6月份工作增長可能集中在普遍低薪的休閒和酒店業， 這些工人返崗使六月平均薪資水準進一步下降。
這份就業數據的調查是在6月12日當周進行的；當時美國南部各州的疫情還未出現大規模反彈，兩個星期之後，有超過25萬的美國人被確診感染新冠肺炎，僅在上週末3天的時間裏，美國全國確診病例就高達4萬多例，但這些事實並未反映到6月中旬的就業數據調查中。
但隨著企業恢復營業，美國許多地區新冠感染病例激增，其中包括人口稠密的加州、佛羅里達州和德州等地，使得全國平均每天新增病例達到4萬例。美國傳染性疾病首席專家福奇週二對議員們表示，如果目前的趨勢繼續下去，美國每天可能出現10萬新病例。
分析師說：“經濟衰退向那些未直接受到疫情影響的企業蔓延。與此同時，重啟經營後只能吸引部分老客戶回顧的企業可能依然難免倒閉命運，許多知名企業都在申請破產。”
美國11月將迎來總統大選，目前民調顯示民主黨總統候選人拜登依然領先謀求連任的現任總統特朗普。分析師表示，若拜登勝選，則可能威脅到特朗普宣導的、普遍受到華爾街歡迎的政策，比如較低的公司稅率和放鬆監管，將導致經濟增長放緩。
