美國4月零售資料表現差勁，現貨黃金短線激增

在5月15日晚，美國公佈了市場密切關注的美國4月零售資料，結果資料表現大幅低於市場預期，在資料公佈後，現貨黃金短線上漲8美元，表現市場對美國經濟的表現抱有一定悲觀情緒，刺激貴金屬的避險需求。
具體資料顯示，美國4月零售銷售月率實際公佈-16.40%，預期-12%，前值-8.4%；美國4月核心零售銷售月率實際公佈-17.20%，預期-8.5%，前值-4.2%。
美國政府公佈的資料顯示，4月份美國消費者支出下滑16.4%，創歷史新低，在新冠病毒大流行的影響下，美國經濟的支柱出現了收縮。在美國21.5萬億美元的經濟總量中，約68%來自個人消費支出，今年第一季度個人消費支出下降7.6%，而與此同時，旨在遏制病毒傳播的社交距離限制措施開始生效。週五公佈的資料顯示，隨著裁員開始增加，社會進入封鎖狀態，經濟放緩延續到了第二季度之初。
美國各州雖然從3月就開始陸續宣佈進行封鎖，但直到3月下半月封鎖措施才開始對勞動力市場和零售業產生影響。而4月份，整個美國都已經處於封鎖狀態，所以零售業在4月受到的打擊要比3月嚴重得多。
儘管近期消費者活動急劇下降，但分析預計這種情況不會持續很長時間。4月的零售銷售資料可能是週期性低點，5月美國經濟逐步重啟能帶來一定上升空間。如果政府預測是對的、疫情在夏天得到緩解，那麼隨著經濟更廣泛地重啟、消費需求的釋放，零售商能在下半年看到銷售資料的恢復。
經濟學家指出，我們差不多知道4月是場災難。問題在於，隨著5月和6月解封，零售銷售哪些領域將會恢復，哪些領域根本不會恢復，所有跡象都表明，如果出現復蘇，也將是緩慢和漸進的。
