4月23日,雖然國際金價刷新近日高位,但美元指數的走強限制了黃金的漲幅,但美國就業的寒冬情況仍在持續,同時德國發過的PMI資料不樂觀,歐元大跌支撐美元。雖然原油價格從大跌中有所反彈,但無法緩解市場的進場情緒,避險需求也在不斷增加。
投資者一直擔心石油需求下降,因為主要經濟體為了控制病毒傳播而實施居家令,並對企業和出行實行嚴格的限制,實際上已經進入停滯狀態。在這樣的背景下,油市的漲勢顯得虛弱。
美國官員近幾日表示,美國在考慮阻止沙特原油輸入,或者對這些船貨征關稅,加劇了現在已在海上的這些船貨的困境。如果美國實施禁令,沙特有可能會將船貨轉運至其他市場,這會給歐亞市場的存儲空間造成巨大壓力。
美國總統特朗普週三簽署行政命令,在新冠病毒疫情期間暫停移民入境。他在每日疫情簡報記者會說:“這將確保在我們經濟重啟之際,所有背景的失業美國人將排在求職佇列的首位。”
歐元兌美元創3月24日以來新低至1.0756,因日內公佈的法國4月製造業PMI刷新紀錄低位,綜合PMI降至1998年以來最低水準;德國4月製造業PMI跌至逾11年低位,綜合PMI錄得紀錄低位元。
歐盟一位官員週三表示,由於仍存在重大分歧,歐盟國家可能要到夏季或更晚,才能就經濟復蘇救助的融資方式達成一致。
法國和西班牙提出涉及聯合發債的提議,但德國、荷蘭和幾個其他國家堅決反對。歐盟執委會提出了一項折衷方案,即由歐盟執委會以歐盟聯合預算作為擔保發債籌資。
油價下挫會壓低運輸及製造成本,民眾荷包也有了更多非必需消費的餘裕空間。但低油價也可能造成破壞,使得歐元區政府和央行抗擊通縮的努力變得複雜化,即便歐元區疫情得到控制,這可能會使經濟復蘇複雜化,歐元持續面臨賣壓,將利好美元。
