黃金弱勢波動，美聯儲依舊毫無頭緒

4月 17日，由於有消息透露，新冠病毒的藥物試驗有明顯效果，同時美國總統特朗普虛公佈了重啟經濟活動的計畫，但美聯儲表示，疫情對經濟造成的損失仍是位置，經濟要在短期內恢復的可能性較為渺茫，貴金屬市場仍受到較大支撐。
美國總統特朗普週四稱，美國各州州長可根據指引分三階段逐步解除抗疫封閉措施並重啟經濟，但各州的重啟計畫應由本州政府、而非聯邦政府負責，“我們不會立即全部開放，而是一步一步謹慎地開放。”
此前還有報導稱，芝加哥大學針對冠狀病毒肺炎患者的藥物試驗取得進展，預計月底會有更多資料。投資者將此連同特朗普重啟經濟活動的計畫視為積極信號，因而貴金屬市場迎來了賣盤。
經濟學家說，美國經濟已經在3月份進入衰退，並預計，美國經濟第一季度的萎縮幅度最高可達10.8%，這將是1947年以來國內生產總值(GDP)的最大降幅。他們說，大規模的財政刺激計畫可能不會為經濟提供多少緩衝。
黃金短期內預計仍將受到支撐，因為疫苗從試驗成功到最終上市仍需要一段時間，美國經濟短期內的任何重啟行動都將可能受限。
毫無疑問，這次經濟衰退程度之深將創下歷史紀錄。但經濟重啟的核心障礙在於它背後事情的本質：一場公共衛生危機。這場疫情已經導致全球逾14萬人死亡，其中有近10萬人集中在G7國家，留下的是恐懼和迷惑。
市場研究機構凱度(Kantar)週五公佈的調查結果顯示，有超過三分之一的七國集團(G7)富裕國家民眾聲稱其收入已經受到新型冠狀病毒疫情打擊，37%的受訪者聲稱收入減少，其中8%聲稱喪失所有收入。
紐約聯儲主席威廉姆斯週四表示，美聯儲採取了“大膽的行動”來提振被冠狀病毒疫情大流行擾亂的市場，且啟動空前規模的公開市場操作，但疫情對經濟造成的全面損失仍是未知數，美國經濟可能需要幾年時間才能從疫情造成的嚴重衰退中完全復蘇。
美聯儲為刺激經濟使出再大的力氣，但暫時無法看到效果，因為控制疫情而推行的封鎖措施同時也把經濟給冷凍了，美國社會因為長時間的出行限制，付出的成本已經相當大，且還在不斷高企，投資者只能尋求黃金等安全資產。
