4月3日，美國勞工部公佈3月非農資料，就業人數超出預期，出現大跌，失業率大幅度回升，但薪資水準向好，=資料公佈後，現貨黃金出現大幅震盪，但本次數據是在“居家隔離令”發佈前得，尚未反映出當前得重大影響。
美國勞工部稱，過去三個月，平均新增非農就業人數為24.5萬。暫時性的封鎖措施令失業人數暴增，3月醫療保健和社會援助/專業和商業服務/零售貿易/建築行業就業人數錄得減少。
3月上半月進行調查時，工資和工作時間都沒有受到影響，因此美國人的收入仍然相當不錯。然而，4月份的資料可能截然不同。疫情導致的相關工作崗位減少的主要原因是休閒和酒店業工作崗位的大幅減少。這種低工資就業人數減少對平均時薪產生了上行壓力，我們預計這種壓力將持續到4月份。這將是一個暫時的現象。
美國上周初請失業金人數飆升至逾664萬人的紀錄高位，因大部分州實施居家措施以抑制冠狀病毒疫情。新冠病毒疫情引發的經濟危機造就了一波嚴峻的美國經濟資料。

美國國會預算辦公室發佈的預測顯示，隨著疫情危機加劇，美國國內生產總值(GDP)第二季將下滑超過7%。
美聯儲資產負債表規模本周膨脹至5.86萬億美元的紀錄高位。美聯儲自三周前採取大規模行動限制疫情對經濟的衝擊以來，其資產負債表規模已增加大約1.5萬億美元，並且在未來幾周這一比例肯定還將進一步提高。
