流動性危機仍存，黃金避險作用仍在

3月份，黃金震盪超過250美元，由於全球公共衛生事件的蔓延，金價曾創下近7年新高，但美聯儲流動緊急降息，表明經濟形勢演劇，投資者奉行“現金為王”，金價迅速下滑，但隨著流動性緊張情況緩解，黃金仍是最受歡迎的避險產品。
美聯儲3月3日緊急宣佈降息，將基準利率下調50個基點，同時對應下調超額存款準備金利率50個基點至1.1%。這是其自2008年金融危機以來首次在計畫會議之外降息。
全球其他國家央行和政府也紛紛效仿，採取了不同程度的緊急寬鬆措施。但市場認為，這只能給市場帶來“心理上的慰藉”，罕見的寬鬆力度反而證明形勢嚴峻、對貨幣政策能否充分應對疫情衝擊亦持懷疑態度。
美國10年期國債收益率創下歷史新低至0.313%，表明市場對經濟將陷入衰退的擔憂！股市狂跌更是令投資者措手不及，道鐘斯指數和標普500指數均創下2016年四季度以來新低，有史以來僅有的五次熔斷，其中的四次發生在本月。
俄羅斯央行宣佈自4月1日開始停止購買黃金，進一步打擊了金價。該行未解釋做出這一決定的原因。
國際貨幣基金組織IMF主席格奧爾基耶娃當地時間3月4日發表文章表示，疫情的迅速蔓延，預計2020年全球經濟增長率將低於2019年的2.9%，2020年實現更強勁經濟增長的希望落空。
20國集團(G20)將“不惜一切代價”戰勝疫情危機，並表示，通過各國措施向全球經濟注入5萬億美元，以減輕其影響。除了5萬億美元針對性財政政策、經濟措施和擔保計畫外，G20還承諾提供大規模的財政支援。
G20貿易部長達成一致，在全球應對新冠病毒疫情之際，應保持市場開放，並確保至關重要的醫療物資、設備和其他必需品的持續流動。
隨著市場流動性恢復，且全球經濟繼續受到疫情的負面影響，市場將重新回歸黃金以對沖風險。
