2月25日，金價保持上漲趨勢，但是公共衛生事件對全球經濟帶來的衝擊仍在重創金融市場，投資者預計美聯儲今年可能降息，美元上漲的趨勢也受到了抑制，同時市場認為美聯儲的經濟刺激舉措頁無法緩解全球市場的憂慮。
韓國報告231個新病例，感染總數來到833例。其中許多來自韓國第四大城大邱，韓亞航空與大韓航空公司甚至停飛往返當地航班直至下個月，大邱被孤立程度可見一斑。
伊朗上週三才宣佈頭兩例確診病例，目前已累計61例、造成12人死亡。多數感染病例發生在什葉派穆斯林聖城庫姆(Qom)。科威特、巴林、阿曼、阿富汗和伊拉克均報告首次確診感染者，所有病例都曾到訪伊朗。
義大利現在是受全球公共衛生事件影響最嚴重的歐洲國家，目前該國死亡病例上升至七例，新增確診病例攀升至約220例，上週五前該國僅報告確診三例感染者。
隨著對全球公共衛生事件的擔憂擴及美國市場，美國股市上日重挫逾3%、美債收益率跌至2016年7月以來新低，且收益率曲線嚴重倒掛——這是暗示可能發生衰退的信號。
克利夫蘭聯儲主席梅斯特是最新一個注意到相關風險的聯儲官員。她在華府全美商業經濟協會(NABE)的演說中，將全球公共衛生事件描述為“重大風險”。
市場參與者對美聯儲進一步放鬆政策的預期繼續升溫，貨幣市場預期6月會議上可能降息25個基點。今年全年，交易員預期美聯儲降息50個基點至1%-1.25%，低於當前區間1.5%-1.75%。
儘管美國經濟仍然強勁——去年美國增長2.3%，但和六個月前相比，消費者支出和工業生產確實均已放緩。

美聯儲未來若做出鴿派反應，或許並不會讓人意外。但如果美國企業開始受到衛生形勢的影響——因海外工廠停工而無法獲得基礎原料，那麼美聯儲寬鬆作用不大，而且黃金作為避險資產很可能再度獲益。
