2月6日，現貨黃金有希望持續走強，但市場對公共衛生事件持謹慎態度，而美國經濟資料表現強勁，新興市場因公共衛生事件受挫，美元指數刷新高位，限制了黃金的反彈空間，但是美國經濟沒有達到特朗普的預期目標，為美國近年來的最慢增速。
歐洲央行(ECB)高級官員週三表示，全球公共衛生事件正增加全球經濟的不確定性，但其影響可能是短期和暫時的，從而限制了採取政策行動的必要性。
中國國務院關稅稅則委員會週四發佈公告，決定調整對原產於美國約750億美元進口商品的加征關稅措施。
自2020年2月14日13時01分起，2019年9月1日起已加征10%關稅的商品，加徵稅率調整為5%；已加征5%關稅的商品，加徵稅率調整為2.5%。
除上述措施外，其他對美加征關稅措施繼續按規定執行。對美加征關稅商品排除工作繼續開展。中方希望，雙方能夠遵守協議約定，努力落實好協定相關內容，增強市場信心，推動雙邊經貿關係發展，促進世界經濟增長。
公共衛生事件也料支持已基本主宰匯市約兩年的美元進入2020年仍維持高檔，受訪的分析師中，半數預測美元的優勢將至少再持續六個月。
美國去年進口了24億桶原油，為1992年以來的最低水準，因為隨著石油生產和勘探的激增，美國大幅降低了對外國石油的依賴。
然而美國經濟並沒有達到特朗普設想中的目標，2019年增長2.3%，這是三年來最慢的增速，而2018年的增速為2.9%。
特朗普曾表示，大幅削減貿易逆差，會使得美國經濟在可持續的基礎上年增長率提高至3%。
