纸黄金止损是，由客户设置一个比现在所在纸黄金交易银行网点还要高的卖出价，这个卖出价就作为客户的买入价，实现高价买入的目的。
下面举例子说明纸黄金止损委托如何操作：
目前纸黄金交易价格为240元，我们想280元的高位出售，则设置获利委托价位为280元出售，一旦纸黄金价格到达280元时，系统自动成交，成交金价就是交易者设定的280元。一旦黄金价格下降的时候，为了控制风险，避免更大损失，可以设定止损委托。假设我们设置止损委托价位为220元，那么当纸黄金交易价格自动运行至220元时，交易系统自动成交，即替客户自动平仓。
在纸黄金交易成交的时候，纸黄金止损委托一般和获利委托结合的，称作双向委托，这样就等于为纸黄金交易单设置止盈和止损点位，规避风险的同时也锁定了利润，令纸黄金投资理财趋于完善。
