美国第二季劳工成本创下逾五年半以来最大增幅，同时另一项就业市场趋势指标在上周降至八年低位，增强美国经济前景。
美国劳工部周四公布，衡量整体劳工成本的雇佣成本指数第二季上升0.7%。这是自2008年第三季以来最大增幅，第一季升幅为0.3%。该指标美联储主席叶伦最为看重的就业市场指标之一，受到市场越来越密切的关注。截至6月的12个月，劳工成本上升2.0%，而截至3月止的12月内涨幅为1.8%。占雇佣成本七成的薪资成本于第二季增加0.6%，为2008年第三季以来最大增幅，第一季为增长0.3%。
另一份劳工部报告显示，上周初请失业金人数四周均值经季节调整后减少3,500人至297,250人，为2006年4月以来最低。但上周初请失业金人数增加2.3万人至30.2万人，表明很难消除数据每年这个时候出现的波动，因汽车厂关闭以更新设备。
