ECB：人民币或有一天挑战美元地位

彭博社报导，欧洲央行(ECB)管理委员会成员、卢森堡央行总裁Yves Mersch 26日在卢森堡人民币论坛上表示，人民币可能有一天会挑战美元的主要储备货币地位。他说，在成为重要交易、支付货币之后，人民币现在已跨出成为国际投资货币的第一步。官方货币与金融机构论坛(OMFIF)联合主席David Marsh去年1月在受访时指出，人民币有望在2020年跃居为全球第三大储备货币。他还说，大陆当局可能会在不影响市场的前提下，默默地小额增持黄金。Mersch指出，以中国经济规模以及它在世界贸易/金融的重要性来看，人民币最终可能会挑战美元的主要储备货币地位。他说，在上海汇市建立人民币、欧元直接交易对双方来说都是有利的。不过，他也提到，中国若想享有人民币日益高升国际地位的好处，就得继续执行改革、特别是在金融业。德国央行理事Joachim Nagel去年7月指出，目前全球交易虽仅有0.69%是以人民币结算、并未反应中国大陆现有的经济实力，但随着官方管制逐渐的放宽，人民币具有成为全球储备货币的潜力。
华尔街日报去年9月报导，国际清算银行(Bank of International Settlements；简称BIS；俗称「央行的央行」)报告显示，人民币已超越瑞典克朗、新西兰币成为全球第九大热门交易货币、排名高于上次调查(2010年)时的第17名。BIS指出，过去3年人民币交易量暴增三倍、2013年日成交均量达1,200亿美元(注：美元2013年的日成交均量为4.65兆美元)。由高盛(Goldman Sach)、太平洋投资管理公司(PIMCO)等14家重量级金融界代表所组成的美国财政部借款咨询委员会(Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee；TBAC)在2011年8月向美国财政部做简报时提出警告，对美元来说、当前国际金融没有其他储备货币选项(所以大家只能选择美元)仅是「空洞的胜利」。美国现在不愿认真削减预算赤字、坐视人民币地位日益升高，未来恐将被迫拱手让出储备货币主导权。
