奥巴马健保问题重重，MarketWatch取得消息表示，由于申办保险后，大概需要六周作业时间，才能获得健保资格；当局将延长全民加保截止期限，不会立即开罚。
欧巴马健保规定明年1月1日为止，民众必须拥有健保，否则需缴付罚款。罚款开征日有3个月的缓冲期，表示要是到3月31日仍没有保险，需罚款95美元或1%个人收入。
美国卫生和公众服务部(HHS)官员表示，由于健保从购买到生效，约需六周时间，当局正修改规定，允许民众能在最后一刻，也就是3月的最后一天再添购保险。这是因为申购健保后，需要两周处理申请程序，新加保案要到隔月的第一天才会生效；表示若在3月31日购买保险，要到4月中才会通过，5月1日才会有健保资格，依据现行法规必须受罚。当局正修改法令，以免3月底的加保民众挨罚。
不仅如此，华盛顿邮报报导，奥巴马健保的关键措施「保险交易所」网站，1日启动后问题频传。美国总统奥巴马21日坦承，网站运作过慢，申办过程频频卡住，没有人比他更挫折；他说这些问题没有借口，将尽快修复。
