加息預期不敵通脹憂慮，金價強勁反彈愈40美元
9月27日-10月1日當周，由於美元指數刷新了去年9月下旬以來的高點位置至94.504，導致現貨黃金價格大幅走低，並且一度創下了8月上旬以來的低位至1721.4美元/盎司。但隨著周中時間美元指數漲幅縮水，金價出現強勁反彈並收回所有周內跌幅，最終收盤小漲10美元至1758.7美元/盎司。
美國8月個人支出強勁增長
美國8月PCE物價指數同比增長4.3%，增幅創1991年以來最大；核心PCE物價指數同比增長3.6%，與1991年以來的最高水準一致；8月個人支出環比增長0.8%，增速高於預期值0.6%，受商品採購驅動。這些數據表明，儘管新冠病例增加，但美國8月份的消費者需求依然強勁。支出增加的原因是商品支出，特別是食品和家庭用品大幅增長，可能反映出由於對疫情的擔憂加劇，人們避免外出就餐和旅遊。
美國國會通過權宜支出法案
上周週四美國眾議院通過了覆蓋時間達九周的權宜支出法案，得益於此美國政府停擺風險暫時消除，隨後該法案將送交總統拜登簽署。另外，由於遭到共和黨的強烈反對，此前民主黨人將暫停債務上限納入權宜支出法案的想法被破放棄。而根據該法案，聯邦政府將可維持運轉，直至今年的12月3日。
