“恐怖數據”發威，金價暴跌逾2%
周五（9月17日）亞洲時段，現貨黃金持穩于1754附近。周四（9月16日）金價暴跌逾2%，強勁的美國零售銷售數據提振了美元，並為押注美聯儲可能加快縮減購債的看法增添理據，但債務上限之爭可能影響美聯儲抉擇。
美國8月零售銷售意外增長
美國8月零售銷售意外增長，因許多類別的銷售增加足以抵消汽車需求疲軟的影響。
商務部周四公布的數據顯示，8月份零售銷售上升0.7%，7月份下修後為下降1.8％。不包括汽車的零售銷售8月份增長1.8％，為五個月來最大增幅。
調查經濟學家預期8月整體零售銷售下滑0.7％，預測值介于下滑3.3％至增長1.1％之間。
數據公布後，美國股指期貨縮小跌幅，債券則下跌。
零售銷售出人意料改善，部分得益于返校購物和數以百萬計有子女家庭獲得的資金補助，也表明商品需求的堅韌。該報告顯示無店鋪零售商、雜貨店和家具店收入更強。
德爾塔毒株正在抑制對旅遊和休閑等服務業的需求。數據顯示，8月份餐飲和酒吧的收入停滯不前。
美元指數觸及近三周最高
美元指數周四上漲，觸及近三周最高，此前公布的數據顯示，美國8月零售銷售意外增加，部分緩解了對經濟增長大幅放緩的擔憂。
加拿大帝國商業銀行資本市場北美外彙策略主管Bipan Rai表示，“如果你看看零售銷售數據，即使有所修正，也相當利多，因此，我們看到美元從中受益，特別是兌歐元、瑞郎和日元等融資貨幣。”
他表示：“感覺就像是所有對基礎經濟揮之不去的擔憂……都有所減弱。因此，當我們把目光投向下周的美聯儲會議時，證據支持了這樣一種想法，即屆時美聯儲將在會上發出縮減信號。”
