分析师说，美元走强以及未来经济刺激方案的不确定性令黄金承压。尽管预期会有更多刺激措施出台，但一些人选择在情况更加明朗之前了结获利。
美元和美债收益率的飙升、股市大幅走高显示出投资者在增加风险，这两种因素都令黄金承压，短期内金价或将接近1800美元/盎司的支撑位。如果美元和美债收益率进一步飙升，黄金将面临更大的压力。然而，更广泛的经济环境仍对黄金有利。民主党政府推出更大规模财政刺激计划的可能性相当大，这可能会提振金价，也是黄金在中长期走高的理由。
花旗银行则表示，金价明年似乎必然回升至2000美元/盎司上方，新冠疫苗进展仅会减缓该牛市周期。分析师表示，只要美联储的立场依然足够鸽派，金价就应上涨。美国缺乏财政刺激措施可能令更多资产购买的可能性上升，而美元在中期应会走软。
