11月20日，晚间时分，现货黄金市场出现较大涨幅，由于美国财长表示，财政部和美联储有足够的资金支持当前的经济，而有关经济刺激措施的谈判也都在继续进行，这样刺激了市场对黄金作为对抗通胀的吸引力。
在呼吁年底结束几个紧急贷款计划的第二天，姆努钦周五表示，市场应该感到很欣慰，因为我们还有足够的资源，他和白宫幕僚长梅多斯将于周五与国会共和党领导人就更多经济支持进行谈判。分析师称，黄金的上涨就是基于他的讲话，只要他们能支持，就意味着体系中有更多的钱。
分析师表示:“有关刺激谈判将再次向前推进的想法支撑了金价，因为我们意识到，央行的流动性和财政刺激措施仍是金市背后的推动力量。”
从辉瑞和Moderna在过去12天发布了有关新冠疫苗的正面报道以来，金价已下跌了约5%。今年以来，黄金主要受益于疫情对经济造成的损害，以及由此产生的全球刺激措施。
美国银行周五表示，投资者上周从黄金市场撤资40亿美元，为有史以来规模最大的资金外流，因投资者纷纷涌入风险较高的资产。
分析师表示，“我们预计今年年末金价将会维持在1800至1900美元/盎司的区域内，除非出现大规模获利了结。”
