樂觀情緒消褪，黃金現較大跌幅

10月19日，由於美元走弱，加上市場對財政刺激計畫達成的預期再度樂觀，結合英國脫歐的不確定性，現貨黃金出現較大漲幅。但之後美股大跌，美元指數出現回升，市場的樂觀情緒明顯消退，金價回落。
分析師表示，金價因美元下跌而走強，且市場相信未來48小時內將出臺某種刺激方案；人們認為，到下個季度我們將進入一個通脹時期。所以他們會在這方面先行一步。
美國財政部長姆努欽與眾議院議長佩洛西將於週一下午通話討論刺激方案。此前，佩洛西把週二設為大選前達成協議的最後期限。
英國拒絕了歐盟方面恢復貿易談判的努力，稱儘管歐盟主動提出開始起草法律文本，但英方依然沒有看到恢復正式談判的基礎。
美國總統特朗普表示，他準備給出與民主黨要求的2.2萬億美元刺激計畫相同甚至更大的規模，而參議院多數黨領袖米奇·麥康奈爾已經多次警告說，共和黨參議員多數會反對如此大規模的紓困計畫。
紐市尾盤，美股大跌，道指一度跌逾460點，標普500指數跌1.76%，納指跌1.69%；美元指數較日低回升25點至97.45附近，似乎意味著投資者對美國短期出臺財政救助方案已不抱太大希望，這令金價承壓。
數據顯示，對沖基金和其他大型投機者截至10月13日當周對黃金的看跌押注增加至2019年年中以來的最高值。交易所交易基金也出現大量資金流出，根據彭博的初步統計上周五黃金持有量減少了6噸以上。
