9月11日晚，現貨黃金價格小幅度下滑，由於歐洲央行和美國政府尚未公佈進一步的經濟刺激措施，市場對經濟復蘇有一定的擔憂，同時由於全球股市的動盪，黃金作為避險產品更受投資者青睞。
紐約商品交易所12月交割的黃金期貨價格下跌16.40美元，跌幅0.8%，受益每盎司1947.90美元。12月白銀期貨下跌43美分，跌幅1.6%，受益每盎司26.857美元。按照最活躍合約計算，本周黃金期貨累計上漲0.7%，白銀上漲0.5%。
歐洲央行行長拉加德週四未發出該行將擴大刺激的信號，美國國會參議院週四否決了共和黨提出的抗疫援助議案。分析師稱，“市場對歐洲央行有點失望，因之前預期我們能看到更多刺激舉措。”
分析師指出，全球貿易的復蘇使得黃金市場承壓，因為這是全球經濟增長的一個信號，也是地緣政治穩定和消費者情緒積極的信號。
分析師表示：“國債收益率極低甚至為負、美國冠狀病毒感染病例持續增加、美元走軟等因素使貴金屬價格仍然得到支撐。除了這幾個因素，美聯儲改變政策框架，允許通脹率上漲，同時將在較長時間內維持低利率政策，也會使金價受益。通脹上漲的壓力將侵蝕美元的購買力，意味著美元貶值的同時黃金將保持其價值。”
