换言之，如果市场继续保持对于黄金极度看多的情绪，那么投资者将不会在当前的价格水平上对黄金价格作出修正，这将推动金价进一步走高，这将是对反向分析的一个反驳。但是反之，如果市场意识到了当前的看多情绪处于极端水平，那么黄金将从当前的价格水平回调，即使未来仍将继续创出历史新高，但是从时间周期看将明显晚于黄金多头的预期。
这反过来表明，看涨黄金的人需要保持耐心，因为他们预计金价将在未来几周内飙升至历史新高，这一纪录高点为1921.18美元。但实际上到达这一点位可能需要花费更多的时间。
反向投资者仍在押注黄金将在未来几周苦苦挣扎。但是基于当前黄金的走势，这就是为什么说下个月将是反向分析的一大考验。
这就是为什么在预测黄金短期走势时，市场情绪比实际收益率更有帮助。只要黄金追踪器像现在一样看涨，历史趋势表明黄金将会挣扎，这意味着黄金大概率将从当前的点位的回调，即使这波回调只是暂时的，但是这也说明黄金创出纪录新高不会像市场上多头所预测的那样很快到来。
