英國央行週四按兵不動，暫時不擴大刺激經濟措施，但英國央行行長Andrew Bailey稱，決策層最早可能在下個月擴大貨幣刺激政策，因英國可能面臨歐洲最嚴重的經濟下滑。分析師指出，由於市場預期進一步的量化寬鬆即將到來，金價因此正上漲；英國央行為進一步量化寬鬆可能性敞開了大門，這支持了金價。
紐約6月交割黃金期貨價格上漲2.2%，收于1725.80美元/盎司。白銀同樣在市場上漲，盤中一度大漲4.53%，刷新近一周高點至15.695美元/盎司，為三周來最大漲幅，而鉑金和鈀金也在紐約商業交易所攀升。
