3月3日，现货黄金出现反弹，市场预测可能开启新一轮的多头，目前市场认为美联储将引领全球应对全球公共安全卫生事件，但是美联储也在质疑其他央行实施的宽松政策是否能有效应对此次事件。
美国卫生官员周一表示，西雅图地区已有六人死于新型冠状病毒引发的疾病。截至3月1日，美国确诊感染病例增至91例。与此同时，美国各地政府正为出现更多确诊病例做准备，重点是提高检测能力。
根据CME“联储观察”工具显示，利率期货市场预计，美联储将从本月开始实施大规模的刺激措施——降息50个基点的可能性为100%，且在今年年底前累计降息100个基点，以保护全球最大经济体免受全球公共卫生事件蔓延的影响。
三名熟悉相关讨论内容的消息人士表示，欧洲央行正在研拟举措，为受到全球公共卫生事件冲击的企业提供流动性。
消息人士补充说，由于准备工作需要时间，因此不会马上就该计划做出决定。欧洲央行行长拉加德周一晚间表示，已准备好采取“适当而有针对性的”措施。
对日本而言，此次疫情爆发的时机非常棘手，提升了经济连续第二个季度陷入萎缩的风险。而此时日本正在为迎接7-8月的夏季奥运会作准备。
由于欧洲央行和日本央行已长期实施负利率政策，而美联储的联邦基金利率目标区间在1.5-1.75%，因此美联储拥有较其他央行更大的操作空间。
新冠病毒在美国境内存在大规模传播的可能，日元在经历2月中旬短暂大跌后重新获得避险买盘青睐，这令美元面临的卖压进一步加重。
