自上周以来，特朗普多次在公开场合抨击美联储的政策。特朗普抱怨美联储的相对紧缩的货币政策，并直言后悔当初选了鲍威尔作美联储主席。特朗普在2017年最终选择了杰雷米-鲍威尔为美联储主席，但几乎从鲍威尔开始加息后就对此表示后悔。特朗普就表示，当德国和其他国家借钱还有报酬时，这让我很困惑。
分析人士认为，由于共和党占据参议院多数席位，弹劾案至此可以算是进入特朗普的“主场时间”。虽然众议院提交的弹劾条款有很大可能会被参议院否决，但这场结局缺乏悬念的弹劾案有可能激发民主党选民的投票热情或者改变摇摆选民的决定，从而对总统选举产生某种程度的影响。
