周六，多位美联储官员发表讲话，支持美联储于年底前加息。
旧金山联储主席Wiliiams在周六的一次演讲中表示，他认为在年底前加息仍然是适当的。Williams表示：“考虑到我们已经取得的进展，我们将继续接近我们的目标。我认为接下来适当的一步是逐步提高利率，很可能从今年晚些时候开始。”
另外，圣路易斯联储主席Bullard表示，维持利率不变加大而非减少了全球宏观经济的不确定性。Bullard称，FOMC的目标已经基本达到，但是委员会的政策设定依然处于紧急状态下。
美联储的两大政策目标是就业最大化和稳定的2%的通胀。失业率已于8月跌至5.1%。Williams表示，他预计美国将于今年年底或2016年年初达到完全就业。相比之下，通胀依然低迷。美联储的通胀指数显示，目前的通胀仅0.3%。
美联储在声明中表示：“近期全球经济和金融的进展或将限制经济活动，并可能在短期内进一步拉低通胀。”
Bullard表示，即便小幅度加息后，货币政策依然非常宽松，将继续推动通胀。
Williams表示，尽管美元走强和油价下跌在过去的一年拉低了物价，这些因素应该是暂时性的。他预计通胀将在未来两年达到2%的目标。
Williams和Bullard都表示，10月是美联储加息的可能时点。尽管目前和10月的会议之间没有太多的经济数据（一份非农就业报告和一份CPI报告）。
