希腊政府发言人Gabriel Sakellaridis周一(5月4日)表示，财长瓦鲁法基斯仍然受到总理的支持，他将参加欧元区财长的下一次会议。“谈判团队的负责人是瓦鲁法基斯，政府对他完全信任，”该发言人称。
上周希腊总理齐普拉斯调整了谈判团队，削弱瓦鲁法基斯在谈判中发挥的作用，因为里加会议谈判空手而回，使其受到严厉抨击。
Sakellaridis重申，希腊的流动性问题必须尽快获得缓解，并呼吁欧洲央行或其他机构给予援助。与此同时，希腊政府另外一位发言人周一表示，希腊计划按时偿还所有债务，不过希望欧盟和国际货币基金组织(IMF)能够尽快拨付新的救助资金。
