路透调查周二(5月5日)显示，美国5月1日当周商业原油库存可能连续第17周触及纪录高位。在美国石油协会(API)和美国能源资料协会(EIA)发布一周库存报告之前，路透访问的八名分析师结果显示，上周原油库存料增加150万桶。
API于周二公布了库存数据，EIA将在周三公布报告。EIA上周公布的数据显示，4月24日当周原油库存上升190万桶至4.91亿桶。调查显示，上周炼厂产能利用率可能较此前一周的91.3%上升0.5个百分点。上周包含取暖油和柴油的馏分油库存预计减少10万桶，而汽油库存则可能增加了90万桶。本项路透调查中各项数据的预估均值剔除了最高和最低估值，若最高值或最低值多于一个，则仅剔除一个。
