货币型基金是一种开放式基金，其只投资于货币市场，如债券、央行票据、回购等安全性极高的短期金融品种，其流动性仅次于银行活期存款，收益较一年定期存款略高，是储蓄的替代品种。其主要特征是“本金无忧、活期便利、定期收益、每日记收益、按月分红利”。
货币基金是除法定休息日外，可随时赎回的基金，一般而言，申请赎回的第二个工作日（T+2）资金就能到账，但要保证赎回操作是在交易日的15点前进行。
另外，货币型基金无论是申购还是赎回都是完全无手续费的，可以说货币型基金是一支没有任何费用的开放式基金。
小编建议不要在周五或者法定假期前一日申请赎回，因为在周五或假期前赎回基金，不但会损失假期内的货币基金收益，而且在假期内资金也无法到账。
