印度维持黄金进口税不变

2013至2014财年(2013年4月至2014年3月)，印度黄金进口同比下降34%。2012至2013财年印度进口黄金1013.9吨，而2013至2014财年，印度仅进口黄金670.4吨。
印度贸易部长在报告时称，印度政府和央行没有民众实际可获取黄金的数据。另据称，印度央行截止今年6月18日，持有黄金557.8吨。
尽管印度央行(RBI)的黄金储备价值从之前的209.6亿美元下降到207.9亿美元，并且自今年5月2日起就停止了变动。而另一方面，RBI的外汇储备增加至3157.79亿美元，距离三年前的历史最高纪录3210亿美元不远。
在印度的外汇储备中，黄金占8.4%。去年以来印度政府为控制经常账户赤字而对黄金进口采取了一系列限制措施。在周四刚刚宣布的预算案中，印度新任政府维持了10%的黄金进口关税。
印度黄金行业官员此前预计黄金进口税的下降可以降低印度自去年开始猖獗的黄金走私的情况。印度此前为了平衡经常帐赤字，在去年采取了大量的打压的黄金需求的措施，黄金是继原油之后的该国第二大进口物品。
