新加坡寻求亚洲黄金地位

作为上海自贸区的强劲对手，新加坡宣布今年9月将推全球性实物黄金合约。上海此前曾表示将于今年三季度在自贸区开黄金“国际板”，以吸引国外黄金交易所入驻。
在新加坡交易所宣布的第二天，瑞士贵金属精炼公司（Metalor）运营的黄金精炼厂在新加坡开张。这让新加坡朝着亚洲的黄金加工及交易中心的目标又前进了一步。
新加坡的计划迎合了黄金市场的两大趋势。
1. 全球黄金消费正从西方转向东方。据世界黄金协会，去年，亚洲占到了全球黄金消费的63%。
2. 在伦敦交易所受到严格监管后，市场对亚洲黄金交易基准的需求与日俱增。
然而，要想打开亚洲黄金需求两个大国——中国和印度的大门恐怕没有那么容易。香港与大陆根深蒂固的关系使得新加坡将目光投向了东南亚，希望能成为该地区的黄金交易和加工中心。该地区的印尼、泰国、越南、马来西亚和菲律宾的黄金消费都正快速增长。
据世界黄金协会，过去10年，全球黄金需求上涨近50%，而同期东南亚的黄金需求上涨了250%。Metalor预计，东南亚每年黄金消费410吨，供给162吨，这巨大的缺口开设精炼厂提供了支撑。
Metalor目前的香港和苏州各有一座精炼厂。Metalor新加坡项目负责人表示，新加坡工厂的最终产能将比香港高30%。黄金的价格将由新加坡交易所交易的黄金期货决定，每日进行实体交割。摩根大通、渣打银行、南非标准银行和加拿大丰业银行将成为做市商。
新加坡可能最早在9月份开始每张纯度为99.99%、重量25公斤的黄金千足金合约交易。
英国《金融时报》援引世界黄金协会董事总经理称：
近期，亚洲金价已经显著高于伦敦基准，这显示出东南亚的买家不能在短时间内买到千足金黄金。人们已经准备好支付高于伦敦基准的价格来买到黄金。这就是为什么新加坡会想建立一个黄金批发的市场——将这些流动性聚集起来，让人们随时可以买到黄金。
