美国黄金75%流向东方 大部分是中国

2010年美国出口黄金383吨，到2013年出口量大增81%，达到692吨。2013年黄金美国的进口量为313吨，较2010年的604吨下跌48%。
2013年美国黄金出口大部分发生在上半年，至6月底，美国出口了406吨黄金，平均每月68吨。2013年下半年，美国只出口了286吨黄金，平均每月48吨。2013年黄金出口最多的月份是3月，共出口黄金89.1吨， 4月出口黄金76.6吨。
香港地区进口了最多的214吨，瑞士进口了150吨，英国则进口了29吨。这三个国家和地区总共进口了393吨黄金，占美国黄金出口的80%。此外，泰国进口了27吨，中国大陆则进口了11吨。如果出口到香港地区和瑞士的黄金最终都流向中国和亚洲国家的话，那么基本上美国出口黄金中的75%是去了东方，很大部分是中国。
美国黄金产量在2013年为231吨，比2012年的234吨略有下降。美国黄金产量最高值出现在1998年，当年的产量为366吨。尽管2013年美国出口黄金和2012年的量差不多相同，但因为进口量大幅减少而使得净出口量大幅上升。
美国在2010年净进口黄金452吨，2011年净进口267吨，然而这一趋势在过去两年被逆转，2012年美国净出口126吨，2013年净出口148吨。
在过去两年，美国出口了比全部黄金产量还多275吨的黄金，这并不是一个可以一直持续下去的趋势，总有一天美国会发现自己美元黄金可供出口。
