巴瑞克出售子公司约10%股份

彭博社3月11日报导,全球最大金矿商加拿大巴瑞克黄金公司(Barrick Gold Corporation)宣布将出售旗下子公司非洲巴瑞克黄金公司(African Barrick Gold Plc)约10%的股份,这是该公司继去年宣布减记资产以及降低成本后的最新动作。巴瑞克持有非洲巴瑞克74%的股份,即便该公司出售南非子公司的股份,依然会是最大的股东。
巴瑞克执行长杰米-索卡尔斯基(Jamie Sokalsky)此前表示,为了应对金价下跌以及成本上扬等艰困的市场环境,该公司正就进一步出售旗下资产展开洽谈,主要针对那些较小型以及较高成本的金矿。索卡尔斯基指出,透过出售一些非核心的金矿,该公司能够更加致力于资源丰富的长期发展项目。
虽然去年金价大跌令该公司被迫削减成本,但其对金价后市仍然看好。索卡尔斯基认为,当前的金价可能已经筑底,未来势必会出现反弹,预计2015年金价有望涨至1,500美元/盎司,未来两年至3年内金价不但有望重回2011年创下的历史高位,甚至有望突破2,000美元/盎司。
索卡尔斯基还表示,今年全球的矿产金产量可能会低于市场预期,这也将助推金价进一步走高。此外,来自亚洲特别是中国的实金需求表现依然强劲,这亦将为金价提供强劲的上行动能。受益于金价反弹等一系列有利因素影响,从年初至今,巴瑞克黄金公司的股价涨幅已接近13%。
Financial Post报导,National Bank Financial三位分析师Steve Parsons、Paolo Lostritto和Shane Nagle出具报告认为,2017年前后将出现“黄金产量悬崖”现象,届时全球主要的金矿商都可能经历产量大幅下降,主要因为新发现的大规模黄金储备资源太少,不足以维持现有的生产率;且许多矿商都开始推迟或取消开采项目,主要因为成本压力较大等因素的影响。
