巴瑞克出售内华达州金矿

《华尔街日报》报导,世界最大黄金生产商巴瑞克黄金公司(Barrick Gold Corporation)与其加拿大同业黄金公司(Goldcorp Inc)2月4日宣布,将两家公司共同持有的美国内华达州金盏花金矿(Marigold Mine),以2.75亿美元的价格出售给Silver Standard Resources Inc.。该矿由Goldcorp持股三分之二,巴瑞克则持股三分之一。
金价去年下跌近三成,这使得金矿商被迫削减成本并专注于最具效益的业务。巴瑞克上月甫宣布将其在西澳的深成金矿(Plutonic mine)以2,500万澳元出售给澳大利亚北星资源有限公司(Northern Star Resources Ltd)。去年10月,该公司也将其在澳洲的三座金矿(Granny Smith、Lawlers与Darlot)以3亿美元出售给金田公司(Gold Fields Ltd)。
巴瑞克执行长杰米-索卡尔斯基(Jamie Sokalsky)此前表示,为了应对金价下跌以及成本上扬等艰困的市场环境,该公司正就进一步出售旗下资产展开洽谈,主要针对那些较小型以及较高成本的金矿。索卡尔斯基指出,透过出售一些非核心的金矿,该公司能够更加致力于资源丰富的长期发展项目。
