现货黄金创5周来最大跌幅，主因市场臆测美国联邦储备理事会（Fed）将缩减美国货币刺激措施，降低这种贵重金属作为替代性投资的需求。
昨天联储局决策者已开始2天的会议。据彭博社访查经济师的预测，联储局可能会在今后每一次会议都减少购债100亿美元，并且在今年内完全结束购债。金价在过去12个月中已下跌24%，相较之下，标准普尔500股价指数却攀升19%。
多伦多道明证券公司（TD Securities）商品策略师梅利克（Bart Melek）在接受电话访问时说：「联储局今天非常可能采取额外的减购债行动。某些人希望在这项宣布前结束投资部位。」
纽约4月期金下跌1%，报每盎司1250.50美元，创去年12月9日以来最大跌幅。根据彭博汇编的数据，交易量高于过去百日均量71%。
本月27日，这项价格盘中曾触及每盎司1289.10美元，创11月18日以来高点，但随后收跌0.1%，报1263.50美元。
