黄金矿工会抗议裁员 英美铂金将预罢工

路透社报导，南非第二大黄金矿工工会组织–全国矿工和建筑工会（AMCU）主席Joseph Mathunjwa周二（9月24日）表示，工会将于本周五对世界最大铂金生产商英美铂金（Anglo American Platinum Ltd.）发动为期两天的罢工，以抗议英美铂金的裁员行动。英美铂金发言人Mpumi Sithole称公司已经收到工会的通知，并称将会与工会进行沟通。
英美铂金上月宣布将裁员4,800人，此较今年一月所宣布的14,000人已经大幅降低，不过仍不能令工会满意。Sithole称在目前的环境下，裁员是为了企业生存不得不作的决定。英美铂金的矿产铂金产量占全球四成比重，南非铂金矿产量则占全球七成以上比重。
英美铂金去年产量为237.9万盎司，今年的生产目标为220-240万盎司。2012年该公司营运亏损7.15亿美元，主要因为南非的严重罢工导致该公司生产作业的中断，并因此损失了305,600盎司的铂金产量。2011年，英美铂金获利超过10亿美元。该公司经过评估之后，决定闲置南非鲁斯登堡（Rustenburg）4处铂金矿坑，相当于每年40万盎司的产能，或约全球产量的7%。
南非矿业协会主席斯比亚（Bheki Sibiya）指出，过去两年南非铂金矿商遭遇相当严重的国内外不利因素，目前有超过一半的南非铂金矿商均处于生产亏损的局面。斯比亚指出，国际上，由于欧洲经济衰退以及中国大陆的经济增长放缓，导致了铂族金属的需求下滑以及价格下跌；而在南非国内，生产成本上扬–特别是近期电价几乎倍增，以及生产力与矿石品位的下滑等，也令铂金矿商的挑战增加。
