NewPlat跃居全球第二大铂金ETF

《Mining Weekly》8月23日报导，南非联合银行集团（ABSA）投银部门主管Dr Vladimir Nedeljkovic表示，该行四月底才推出的铂金ETF（交易所交易基金）–NewPlat，截至目前的规模已经超过8亿美元，铂金持有量达17.5公吨，成为全球第二大的铂金ETF。ABSA是南非最大的银行集团。Nedeljkovic指出，南非虽然是全球最大的铂金生产国，但是在NewPlat推出以前，投资人只能藉由铂金矿公司的股票或是国外的铂金ETN（交易所交易债券）来间接投资铂金，因此NewPlat的推出给了南非投资人于国内直接投资铂金的机会。Nedeljkovic也提醒投资人，在投资如NewPlat等与铂金连结的证券时，必须要留意到南非矿业环境的最新情势，以及其对铂金供应所可能产生的影响。此外，Nedeljkovic认为，铂金ETF的推出将会带动铂金的需求，从而也会对铂金价格构成支撑。
Nedeljkovic指出NewPlat ETF成功的几个要素，包括南非是最大的铂金生产国，直接投资铂金有利于规避包括劳工问题与生产成本等企业风险，以及南非对机构投资人投资外国证券有所限制等。NewPlat以及此前推出的NewGold黄金ETF，都只允许持有南非国内所生产的黄金或是铂金。
