金矿商削减支出预期将导致金矿产量下滑

《加拿大通讯社》（The Canadian Press）8月5日报导，受到金价下跌的影响，加拿大金矿商纷纷宣布将削减支出，这可能使得未来几年的金矿产量下滑。
安永（Ernst & Young）矿业与金属交易合伙人Jay Patel指出，矿业是一项长期的产业，必须特别注意不要因为短期的成本削减而影响到长期的可能收益，比如象是探勘的投资等。
穆迪投资者服务公司（Moody‘s Investors Service）副总裁暨资深信用主管Darren Kirk表示，从最新季报所公布的讯息来看，主要金矿商的矿场投资计划皆被短期的现金流量考虑所主导，而不是着眼于矿场的长期价值，因此可以预期金矿产量在未来将会下降。
Salman Partners Inc.矿业分析师David West表示，金矿商会保留目前看来较难获利的项目，以等待价格回升之后再重新进行开采，因此如果金价的表现持续疲弱的话，则预期第三季以及第四季金矿商还会有更多的支出削减措施。
不过，穆迪的Kirk认为金矿商削减成本仍有其必要，主要因为很多金矿商的成本结构是以远高于目前水平的金价作为基础，随着景气循环的转变，矿商有必要因应金价的转变来作出调整。
全球最大金矿商加拿大巴瑞克黄金公司（Barrick Gold Corporation）8月1日宣布将今年的资本支出预算由原先的57-63亿美元区间下调至45-50亿美元区间。该公司维持今年生产目标不变，但称已经放弃原先2016年将年产黄金800万盎司的目标。 也有一些大型矿商对未来仍具信心。
全球产量第三大的金矿商英美黄金阿散蒂公司（AngloGold Ashanti Limited）澳大利亚执行副总Graham Ehm表示，该公司将会扩充在澳洲的营运规模，并认为未来金价的上扬将足以抵消能源成本上涨的负面影响。
Ehm表示，金价目前约在每盎司1,300美元价位，而该公司明年度的营运计划会以略低于目前的价位为基础，并认为金价走势长期仍旧偏多，主要因为中国大陆与印度的需求仍将增长，而金矿的供应并没有办法快速增加。
