美联储暗示或很快开始减码，美元走高
周三(9月22日)美元升至逾一个月高位，因美联储主席鲍威尔称在2022年中之前结束减码可能是合适的；在美联储声明发布后不久，市场出现了震荡走势，因交易员们评估一些鹰派信号和不明确减码时间表的影响。美元兑G-10货币中的多数上涨，美国10年期国债收益率报1.32％，基本持平。
美元指数受鹰派言论影响下跌
美元指数涨0.27％至93.47，在美联储声明后一度下跌0.25％，创下近两周来最大跌幅。鲍威尔在新闻发布会上表示，资产购买在危机初期是“必要的”；随着经济复苏的推进，总体需求得到支撑，它们现在的用处已经小很多。
大田环球分析师表示，这比许多人预期的要快，但最大化灵活性似乎是合理的，市场读到的声明是鸽派的，鲍威尔讲话则更倾向于鹰派。
纽约梅隆银行策略师John Velis称，交易员还从鲍威尔那里听到了更多鹰派的味道，他承认“很快”可能意味着最早下一次会议，并且他暗示减码应该在明年年中结束。

外汇策略师Vincent Cignarella：美国联邦公开市场委员会（FOMC）关于何时加息的决定出现分歧，是因为两位委员将2023年的加息预期提前到了2022年，目前2023年加息的总体几率已经上升。鲍威尔还表示，逐步缩减购债规模将在2022年年中左右结束。上次他们缩债的时候是在一年之内完成。按他现在的说法这一次是在六个月完成，确实是鹰派。
独立投资研究机构CFRA Research：美联储在声明中暗示，可能会以比预期更快的速度加息。这种言辞可能比许多人预期的要强硬一些，基本上承认如果经济像我们所看到的那样继续增长，就有理由缩减购债规模。
彭博资深编辑John Authers：对鲍威尔的讲话最合理的解读是，美联储将从11月开始以每次会议缩减150亿美元的速度进行缩债。这将使这项工作在明年6月完成，这是一个比大多数人预期更激进的缩债方式。
