7月21日，贵金属市场出现飙升走势，虽然新冠疫苗的试验结果传来捷报，但前景仍然模糊。同时欧盟达成大规模疫情后经济刺激计划协议，市场聚焦美国出台1万亿美元规模的新财政措施的可能性有多大。
研究团队周一公布了三组新冠肺炎疫苗的初步试验数据，其中包括备受关注的牛津大学疫苗，这些数据提振了疫苗能够训练免疫系统识别与抗击新冠病毒、并且不会出现严重副作用的信心。
但这些努力是否会最终研发出能够保护数十亿民众、终结全球疫情的疫苗，仍然远未明朗，科研人员还需要进行规模更大的研究。因此不足以打压避险黄金。

分析师指出，美国经济复苏可能陷入停滞期，而就业岗位仍比2月减少1330万个。就业岗位流失将导致消费者支出减少，从而导致进口下滑；企业经济状态不善将导致设备投资下滑或减少库存，而这些设备及库存通常是在美国以外的地方生产。
市场注意力目前转向美国出台新财政措施的可能性。美国总统特朗普的顾问团队以及国会民主党高层将在周二讨论应对新冠危机的下一步举措，共和党议员称，他们在研究一项规模1万亿美元的援助议案。
美国国会迄今为止已为应对这场危机砸下3万亿美元。牵头与国会就上一份抗疫法案进行协商的努钦周一表示，他打算集中精力再开始新的1万亿美元协商。我们认为它将会产生很大作用。
