美国4月零售数据表现差劲，现货黄金短线激增

在5月15日晚，美国公布了市场密切关注的美国4月零售数据，结果数据表现大幅低于市场预期，在数据公布后，现货黄金短线上涨8美元，表现市场对美国经济的表现抱有一定悲观情绪，刺激贵金属的避险需求。
具体数据显示，美国4月零售销售月率实际公布-16.40%，预期-12%，前值-8.4%；美国4月核心零售销售月率实际公布-17.20%，预期-8.5%，前值-4.2%。
美国政府公布的数据显示，4月份美国消费者支出下滑16.4%，创历史新低，在新冠病毒大流行的影响下，美国经济的支柱出现了收缩。在美国21.5万亿美元的经济总量中，约68%来自个人消费支出，今年第一季度个人消费支出下降7.6%，而与此同时，旨在遏制病毒传播的社交距离限制措施开始生效。周五公布的数据显示，随着裁员开始增加，社会进入封锁状态，经济放缓延续到了第二季度之初。
美国各州虽然从3月就开始陆续宣布进行封锁，但直到3月下半月封锁措施才开始对劳动力市场和零售业产生影响。而4月份，整个美国都已经处于封锁状态，所以零售业在4月受到的打击要比3月严重得多。
尽管近期消费者活动急剧下降，但分析预计这种情况不会持续很长时间。4月的零售销售数据可能是周期性低点，5月美国经济逐步重启能带来一定上升空间。如果政府预测是对的、疫情在夏天得到缓解，那么随着经济更广泛地重启、消费需求的释放，零售商能在下半年看到销售数据的恢复。
经济学家指出，我们差不多知道4月是场灾难。问题在于，随着5月和6月解封，零售销售哪些领域将会恢复，哪些领域根本不会恢复，所有迹象都表明，如果出现复苏，也将是缓慢和渐进的。
