4月7日，现货黄金冲高后回落，由于全球疫情趋向平稳，市场情绪有所缓和，但对经济的冲击仍让市场保持谨慎交易，同时美元指数的走低让黄金跌幅有限，全球的印钞模式已经达到极端，货币政策要回归正常化将比较困难。
美国纽约州、新泽西州和路易斯安那州州长周一(4月6日)表示，初步迹象显示当地的新型冠状病毒疫情可能开始进入平台期，但他们也警告切勿流于自满。
美国总统特朗普的经济顾问库德洛周一告诉CNBC，白宫一直在讨论发行一种与冠状病毒相关的美国公债的可能性。他在早些时候接受CNBC采访时就曾提到了这一想法。
日本首相安倍晋三周二如期宣布，东京及其他6个都府县进入为期1个月的紧急状态，以遏制主要人口中心的新冠病毒感染人数激增。安倍晋三授权地方主管可以要求民众呆在家里或关闭企业。
鉴于日本进入紧急状态，日元日内反弹幅度有限，日元的避险地位料不太可能很快恢复，黄金将更多地受到避险阵营关注。
到目前为止，美联储的行动似乎已取得成效，主要股市已反弹，货币市场的紧张状况也逐渐消失。但库德洛表示，美联储帮助缓解新冠疫情影响的努力并未结束。
不仅仅是美联储，全球其他主要央行都在竭尽全力应对新冠疫情的影响，印钞规模已达到极端状态，而这种情况可能在疫情结束后很长一段时间内成为新常态。
但回归常态恐怕只是梦想。现在所有主要央行或多或少都在公开谈论常设QE，那将意味着，政府和企业可能将央行购入的公债及企业债无限期地借新还旧展延下去。
一些经济分析师正呼吁采取更极端的措施，例如向所有家庭发放现金(经济专业说法叫做“直升机撒钱”)，或是前欧洲央行行长德拉基力主的取消债务。
大田环球认为，当前的困境可能标志着更深层次的变化，预计美元作为全球储备货币的地位将开始终结，美国的经济主导地位也将随之终结。
