市场预计，美联储决策层将重申，美联储有意愿至少在2020年年底之前维持利率不变。并且会强调正在观察突发公共卫生事件和其他宏观面不确定性。
市场最关注的问题是，美联储何时放慢脚步、并最终停止购买国债。此前短期借贷市场出现资金短缺，导致隔夜利率飙升。
分析师表示，他将仔细聆听美联储如何描述当前的通胀形势及未来通胀预期，因为美联储官员此前表示，有意让通胀水平运行在高于2%的目标水平上方，尽管目前还未达标。他也寻求，美联储能够就购债计划给出更多细节。
美联储还有望提升超额准备金率5个基点。使用该技术性工具能变相提升联邦基金利率。目前联邦基金利率处于基准区间的下沿附近。
分析师指出：“从历史上看，当联邦基金利率一直处于靠近上、下边沿附近5个基点波动时，美联储就会作出调整。但市场和公众似乎已经了解到，这些技术性调整并不代表着货币政策立场的改变。”
