美国方面公布了市场重点关注的11月零售销售数据，结果该数据表现不及预期。但疲弱的数据并未给金价带来太多支撑，主要因为投资者关注的焦点都集中在贸易局势。
美国感恩节至新年之间传统购物季的商店销售额占全年销售额的三分之一，利润可达全年利润的40%。而各大零售商门店今年普遍存在“门可罗雀”的情况，线下销售额同比下滑6.2%；线上销售额虽然同比大涨19.6%，但销售额整体并未达到此前外界预期。

美国企业债务自1991年以来首次超过家庭负债，在公司投资疲软之际构成潜在的经济预警信号。如果美国企业负债继续攀升，那么可能会影响美国经济未来前景埋下重大隐患。
企业债务激增同时，商业投资则连续两个季度下降。昔日商业投资往往随借款一道上升，而现在公司越来越多地利用借款回馈投资者。
