现货黄金在上一个交易日回落调整后转而上涨，刷至新高。因美元指数持续下跌引起的，而美国欲制裁沙特，全球经济面临新的变化。投资者仍担忧贸易战和美国加息带来的影响，全球股市面临新的风险。
沙特阿拉伯上周日警告称，若西方国家因上周该国记者卡舒吉(Jamal Khashoggi)失踪事件对其进行制裁，将以更大的行动进行报复。此前据土耳其官员指控，10月2日《华盛顿邮报》专栏作家Khashoggi进入沙特驻伊斯坦布尔领事馆内后被谋杀。
沙特阿拉伯电视台新闻频道的负责人达克希尔(Turki Al Dakhil)在其网站上的一篇文章中写道，如果美国对沙特实施制裁，我们将面临一场震惊世界的经济灾难，将沙特作为攻击目标将首先打击全球的石油供应。
美股上周重挫之余威仍在发酵，亚洲股市周一继续走疲。美联储主席鲍威尔最近表示，利率应该继续向估计的中性水准前进，甚至小幅高于中性水准。这令投资者感到担忧，他们认为美联储可能升息过快了。
该行2018年全球宏观经济和市场预期已调整，再度重申冒险资产前景偏空，前瞻商业周期已经历了峰值，领先指标显示2019年经济增长动能丧失之势将持续，因此实际经济指标较疲软的趋势即将到来。
美国财长努钦上周六表示，华府希望根据新修订过的北美自由贸易协定(NAFTA)中的汇率章节，在未来与日本等国家的贸易协议中，纳入阻止操纵汇率的条款。
努钦在国际货币基金组织(IMF)与世界银行年会中说，美国将美国-墨西哥-加拿大协议(USMCA)中有关汇率的章节视作未来贸易协议的模式，以阻止伙伴国操纵汇率。
当被问到美国是否会在与日本的贸易谈判中讨论汇率问题时，努钦表示：“我们的目标是汇率问题，我们希望将(它们)纳入未来的贸易协议中，所有国家都要这样做。在这一问题上我并未把日本单独挑出来，我们并未就此展开具体讨论。当然我们还会继续与对方就汇率问题进行对话。但这是我们希望在未来采取的模式。”
