美国圣路易斯联储主席布拉德上周五(5月11日)明确说明反对进一步加息的理由，称利率可能已经达到“中性”水准，不再刺激经济。
美元指数从上周触及的2018年高位进一步回落，因在投资者对美联储将加速升息的预期降温后，美国公债收益率走软。
分析师说：“投资者正在密切关注美国公债和美元走势，并从中寻求有关金价走势的线索。”
虽然金价也从中东政治不确定性中获得支撑，但投资者表示，其他地方的紧张局势缓解可能加大金价的下行风险。
分析师说：“从地缘政治来看，我们正处于朝鲜半岛局势可能有好的结果，以及伊朗和以色列即将爆发冲突这二者的平衡中。黄金价格反映了这种平衡状态。”
美国商品期货交易委员会(CFTC)上周五公布的数据显示，对冲基金和基金经理5月8日当周增持纽约商品期货交易所(COMEX)期金净多仓。
