周三(4月25日)，现货黄金价格下跌，因指标美国10年期公债收益率升破3%的重要关口，提振美元涨至逾三个月高位。利率上升通常提振美元和公债收益率，并令美元计价的黄金承压。
分析师称：“美元指数走强及美国公债收益率上升证实，美联储的鹰派立场不会很快改变。但我确实认为由于股市出现的抛盘，投资者将把资金投到其他地方。黄金的避险功能将吸引资金流入。”
亚洲股市周三下跌。分析师称：“当股市下跌时，黄金通常能提供最好的替代投资选项。”
但分析师补充称：“由于交易商将地缘政治和交易风险暂搁一旁，美元涨跌因此将成为黄金短期走势的主要推动力。”
特朗普周二表示，很可能与中国达成一项贸易协议，双方官员将在几天后坐下来进行磋商。
同时朝鲜领导人金正恩将于周五与韩国总统文在寅举行峰会，并料将于5月底或6月初与美国总统特朗普举行会晤。
