11月10日公布数据显示，澳洲10月商业景气指数保持强劲，企业销售、利润和就业都处于积极区域，尽管商业信心指数在面对金融市场动荡和新兴市场担忧时有所下降。
澳洲国民银行对400多家企业进行每月一次的调查，结果显示澳洲10月商业景气指数为+9，即便信心指数下降三个点至+2。
商业状况趋势改善是澳洲联储本月没有采取降息的一大原因。另一项消费者信息调查显示，消费者信心指数升至2014年1月来的最高水平，人们对经济前景更加乐观。
这样的改善一部分要归因于新当选的总理特恩布尔(Malcolm Trunbull)，他在9月的自由党党内选举中击败前总理阿伯特。
澳洲国民银行的这次调查显示，表现出色的行业对澳元疲软和处于历史低位的利率的曝险最大。该调查的销售指数小幅上升一个点至历史高位+15，而利润指数下降一个点至+8。
就业市场受到了鼓舞，就业指数持稳于+3，为2011年来最高。Oster称，该指数显示未来的就业形势一片大好，年度就业增长也许达到20万。
