美国旧金山联储行长威廉姆斯(John Williams)周三(10月7日)表示，即便市场不认同 他依然支持2015年加息。美联储应该竭尽所能做好沟通工作，做出正确的决定，不要增加不必要的市场波动。
他还指出，“9月份就业数据不错，美联储年底前采取行动不存在障碍。如果市场并不完全认同美联储的加息时机，这没问题。”他同时强调，美联储不应不必要地增加市场动荡，也不应试图压制波动。
威廉姆斯自2011年3月份担任旧金山联储主席以来未投过反对。在9月的会议中，他投票支持美联储9月17日维持利率不变的决定。
威廉姆斯在讲话中还表示，“美国消费支出情况强于预期；贸易数据较为疲弱。我没有看到全球经济增长放缓程度高于预期的迹象。”
