1月19日 – 布兰特原油价格周一下跌至每桶49美元以下，美国原油下滑超过1美元，因全球经济前景低迷和伊拉克称12月原油日产量创纪录。
中国国务院总理李克强周一表示，今年中国经济下行压力依然较大，面临的困难可能更多，必须坚持以经济建设为中心，紧紧抓住发展这个第一要务。
一项路透调查显示，今年中国经济增长率可能进一步下降，受新增信贷低迷、房地产市场下滑以及需求疲软的制约。分析师预期周二发布的数据或将显示，中国经济在2014年第四季增长7.2%，为全球金融危机严重时期以来最慢。
根据中国国家统计局周日公布数据测算，12月70个大中城市新建住宅销售价格同比下降4.3%，连续第四个月同比下跌。
布兰特原油结算价报每桶48.84美元，下跌1.33美元。美国原油最新下跌1.17美元，报每桶47.52美元。成交清淡，美国原油没有官方结算价，美国原油市场因马丁路德金纪念日休市。
“油市仍是供过于求，且这样的情况不会在几个星期内改变，”荷兰银行能源分析师Hans van
Cleef说。伊拉克能源部长Adel Abdel Mehdi周日称，12月伊拉克原油产量达到每日400万桶，创纪录最高。
伊朗石油部长Bijan Zanganeh周一表示，伊朗和其他石油输出国组织(OPEC)成员国就阻止油价不断下跌进行的磋商尚未取得成果，但伊朗无意要求召开OPEC紧急会议讨论油价问题。
“即使油价跌至每桶25美元，也不会对石油行业构成威胁，”法尔斯通讯社援引Zanganeh的讲话报导称。
美国钻井平台数量减少，暗示未来石油产量可能下降，这为原油价格提供一些支撑。德国商业银行分析师在一份给客户的报告中表示，油田服务公司Baker Hughes最新公布的数据显示，钻井平台数量下跌至2013年10月来最低水平。
“当某些油田投资计划被推迟后，页岩油产量可能随之减少。不过，这在短期内不会使供应严重过剩的局面出现任何改变，”德国商业银行分析师说。
