机构维持看空观点 金银暴跌
纽约商品交易所黄金期货市场8月黄金期价7月14日收于每盎司1307.8美元，比前一交易日下滑了32.2美元，跌幅为2.4%。白银期货下跌2.51%，报每盎司20.96美元。
美国二季度企业财报向好：花旗集团昨日宣布，该集团将支付70亿美元的和解金，以便了结美国当局，就高风险次级抵押贷款债券而展开的调查，这种债券是导致2008年金融危机发生的原因之一，与此同时，花旗银行公布的美国第二季度企业财报较好。由于花旗银行出资解救美国的政府债务上限危机，一定程度上缓解了美国财政赤字产生的风险，同时美国第二季度企业财政报告的表现，提振了市场的风险偏好情绪，黄金作为避险资产的重要产品则遭到抛售。
高盛维持看空观点不变：高盛集团昨日发表评论称，仍不会撤回对黄金看跌的观点。高盛预计，部分投资者正在买入抗通胀的资产，但一旦投资者对经济复苏的信心恢复，他们就不会对通胀产生显著担忧，因此预计到了今年年底，黄金价格将走低，届时将跌至1050美元/盎司。由于高盛集团现阶段的金价后市预测与年初的预测值均保持一致，在美国经济持续向好的情况下，若美元再次走强，以美元计价的黄金将受压下行。
