美联储缩减购债 黄金反应过度
伦敦金早上开盘价为1190.9美元/盎司，截止至北京时间2013年12月20日11:00，伦敦金报价1195.4美元/盎司，高价为1197.6美元，低价为1187.2美元，波幅为10.4美元。
美国经济数据：美国劳工部12月19日公布，经季节调整后，截至12月14日为止当周，首次申请失业救济金人数较前周修正值增加10,000人至379,000人，创今年三月底以来新高。受房贷利率节节高升影响，美国成屋销售连续3个月走跌。全美不动产协会(NAR)数据显示，11月份成屋销售年率萎缩4.3%至490万户，不仅远不及彭博社调查预估502万户，且是今年最差表现。费城联邦储备银行(Philadelphia FED)公布12月份当地制造业景气判断指数不如预期，仅自前月的6.5上升至7。指数呈现正值代表当地制造业活动增温，反之则为萎缩。尽管目前指数仍为正值，但整体扩张力道低于路透社调查预估的10。
金价大跌 南非矿产商面临困境：金价连续12年上涨的终结为南非带来很大打击。南非是拥有世界上最多黄金矿藏的国家之一，也曾经是全球第一大黄金生产国。今年以来金价已经下跌了大约25%，同时矿井老化、罢工和高运营费用，这使得南非这个全球第六大黄金生产国承受着巨大压力。今年早先时候南非的黄金生产行业减少了1.44万个工作岗位，使得该行业的所有工作岗位在9月降为126587个。去年南非共生产黄金167吨，是自1905年来该国黄金产量的最低水平。南非的黄金产量在过去10年里下降了83%，并且目前来看没有有复苏迹象。
