美国上调债务上限 市场预期Feb维持QE：
市场预期美国为避免违约而达成的临时协议，可能促使美联储(美国联邦储备理事会)在短期内不会缩减货币刺激计划。美国达成上调举债上限的协议，投资者均撤走在美元的资金，回补黄金空头头寸。
异常买单致成交繁忙 美国未能解释原因：
不过，交易日稍早前成交异常繁忙，而美国尚未能完全解释原因。据称分别有两轮异常巨大买单，提振金价上涨40美元，但势头仅仅持续了几分钟。这次是黄金期货价格在不到两周内，第五次突然大幅波动，未能找出其原因。
CPM：白银未来3年整固：
商品研究及顾问公司CPM集团（CPM Group）10月17日发表针对未来十年的「2013年白银长期展望」报告表示，受到经济增长疲弱，导致工业需求不振的影响，白银价格未来三年还将持续进行整固，但预期银价可以保持在每盎司18美元以上价位，主要因为银价下跌将带动银币的零售投资需求，以及首饰的消费需求，有望对银价构成支撑。
